Today we drive a long journey to Aurangabad ( approx 450 km/ 8 hrs) . Aurangabad named after Aurangzeb, the Mughal Emperor, is a city in Maharashtra. Aurangabad means ‘Built by the Throne’. Being a tourist hub, the city has many historical monuments of great importance. Rest of the day free .
Today we drive to visit Ajanta Caves about 120 km from Aurangabad, the site is a protected monument in the care of the Archaeological Survey of India,and since 1983, the Ajanta Caves have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Today we proceed towards Ellora Caves (40 km). These caves were built during the 5th-7th century. It was initially thought that the Buddhist caves were one of the earliest structures, created between the fifth and eighth centuries, with caves 1-5 in the first phase (400-600) and 6-12 in the later phase (mid 7th-mid 8th), but now it is clear to the modern scholars that some of the Hindu caves (27,29,21,28,19,26,20,17 and 14) precede these caves.
We proceed back to Mumbai today. Places to visit :Elephanta Caves, Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway of India,Mani Bhavan, Dhobi Ghats, Haji Ali Mosque, Marine Drive & Chowpatty Beach.
Today we drive to Murud Janjira (Approx 167 Kms /5 hrs), which is famous for beautiful beaches & located in raigad district of Maharashtra.
Leisure on the beach. Next day drive back to Mumbai to board the flight to your home land.
